Mid-Term Exam Details
Length: 2 hours Details: 3 Questions Question 1 - Referencing (5%) Question 2 - Bibliography (5%) Question 3 - Lesson Plan (10%)
This is an open-book exam. You will be allowed to take your copy of To Kill a Mockingbird with you, and an Electronic Dictionary, but nothing else.
Question 1 To answer this question, download and revise the guide I uploaded in 'Essay Questions and Guidelines'. You will need to study and remember the correct format and order.
Question 2
You will need to study and remember the following information:
Primary Text - (Texts that you're an essay on) Secondary Texts - (Texts that you use to reinforce and explain your points/ideas)
A text should be written in your bibliography as follows: [Surname], [First Name]. [Book Title], [Location]: [Publisher Name], [Date] Godfrey, Daniel. Guide to Referencing, China: Yanjiao Press, 2010
Question 3 You will need to choose an essay topic and write a detailed proposal of how you intend to construct your essay. This will involve an Introduction, 4 Paragraph points and a Conclusion.
Whilst you do not need to write your essays in full, you do need to write your plan with some detail. Showing what quotes you intend to use would be a good idea, and only writing one or two sentences for one of the paragraphs would be a bad idea! You need to show your ideas, and how you think you can support them and explain them.

Question 1 and 2 will not be on To Kill a Mockinbird. You will get a list of information and you will have to put the words (author/date/publisher/location/title) into the correct place.
Question 3 is a Lesson Plan on To Kill a Mockinbird, but you do not need to reference or write a bibliography for Question 3.
